ABIES concolor

'Colorado White Fir'. A very beautiful, large tree with smooth, gry bark, grooved and scaly on old trees. Leaves up to 5.5cm long, thick, almost round in section, attractive blue-green or grey-green, arranged mainly in 2 ranks, but also standing above the shoot. Cones pale green when youns sometimes purplish bloomy; bracts hidden. (4a)
